griff and dad

This is supposed to be a "before" picture prior to our haircuts. Somehow I lost the after pic, must not have saved it on my phone. I put this up anyway, because Griff looks so funny. He is getting so dang big! It breaks my heart missing out on so much of his life, but I sure love the time we're together and we have a good time. He's such a good boy!!!!

Griff Rocks out!

He didn't know I was taking this video, this is all Griff, and I was dying laughing! Check out that air guitar! The kid is a natural rocker!!! Oh, then he checks his owwie on his lip - he's still a little boy! LOL

I better get a Wii soon so we can hit the Guitar Hero full time! I hear they won't be so rare soon. One can only hope I guess.

Audi pics - finally!

Here's the car pics. I finally got it washed (and it proceeded to snow the next day! What the????
It's a nice little car, pretty fast, has some nice gadgets, and the iPod is hooked up, so that's all I need :-)
Black is SO Hot when it's clean!

I didn't notice the tint was different shades, not happy about that.

Hmm, Curb appeal!

Ryan and Paul at the Real home opener

Paul and I were the only ones who could make the game, Sean was getting a new baby, Reece doesn't live here anymore and others who were invited passed on the tickets. Even Griff didn't want to go.
Anyway, the weather was great until the sun went behind the press box at Rice-Eccles Stadium, but it wasn't horrible. Real held the lead until the 92nd minute and gave up a LUCKY tying goal to a player who basically limped and cried the whole game until then. I guess he lulled the Real Defense to sleep.

Paul and I both thought Real looked a lot better, we think this will be a much better season, I guess we'll see how they do away from home.

Here are some goofy pics, the people behind us are some of the rowdies from our section - good times!

Restaurant update

Went to Fuego Bistro and Pizzeria in Park City.

I would have given it about a 8 out of 10 - but the service kinda sucked, so it gets a 7.5. The Pizza is cooked in a wood burning oven so the crust gets crisp around the edges and it's super good. I thought the toppings and sauce were really good. I'm a fan of not-too-strong-tasting sauce and this stuff sure fits the bill - very mild. I WAS really hungry when we went, so it may have been that, but I was very happy afterwards. Arlee, however, gave the pizza a 5. She said the veggies were too soft and there weren't all the toppings on each piece of pizza. That MAY have been because I ate the big pieces and left the small ones for her, I'm not 100% sure :-D

The price was very reasonable, the pizza is the perfect size for two people. We also got a mixed greens salad that was very tasty. OH, the one thing that definitely dropped the score for Fuego, was NO RANCH! Who doesn't carry ranch???? Anyway, the house vinegairette was really good so it wasn't a complete disaster.

So, if you're in Park City and want Pizza, this place was good, just don't bank on excellent service.

Real Salt Lake set to kick off 2008 season!

Sean, Paul, and I have our season tickets again. We'll miss Reece cuz his smart-alec comments are super funny but he's off pursuing his dreams (I guess??? :-D ) Anyway, looking forward to the season, here's to a better year than last and to REAL making the playoffs!

We're actually pretty happy there is no relegation arrangement in the MLS or REAL might be in the Sunday Mexican league at Orem Junior High by now. They've made some moves that could help - so we'll see. The boys think coaching is the problem, I guess we'll see this season!

griff & friend at Jump on it

One of Griff's favorite activities, along with Bowling and miniature golf, is going to Jump On It!

We went with Brad, Danica, Bostyn, Arlee, Saige and Payton. Payton is 5 as well, so he and Griff got along great. He's the little boy you see at the end of the video.

This place is really fun but I can't think of an activity where you get sweatier faster. :-)

Griff plays "Go Fish" :-D

Griff loves to play Go Fish. Here he is looking to see if he has a card Grandpa H has asked for. He's really good and remembers which cards you have, and he's ruthless in asking for them, so beware if you decide to play with him However, he does show his cards regularly, so you can beat him that way - hahahaha.

Griff on Mars

This video and the one below it (Griff on the Moon) are from the Planetarium at Gateway. It's actually pretty fun. We were exploring Mars when the mean old guy vacuuming the area made us stay on the path, but we had fun anyway.

In the "Moon" video you'll Griff's new friends Bostyn and Drew. They had a great time together!

We were going to hit the Elmo exhibit at Discovery in Gateway, but it closed at 6. What closes at 6 on a Saturday??? Goofy!

Restaurant update

For those of you who have read the restaurant review, you know I really liked Thaiphoon at the Gateway. Welllllll, I'm going to have to reduce my rating to a 2 star or so, I'm really over it. I've since been back twice and both times the food was really average and not worth the added expense. In fact, I'd say just about any Thai restaurant in town has better Pad Thai at half the price. The price isn't really the big deal to me, but I really like Thai food, and this place just isn't stacking up all the sudden. Oh, and the service was really crappy last time too, the guy never even came around to re-fill our water glasses even once! So, if you're in the mood for Thai food, there are way better places. If you're at the Gateway and you're hungry, walk to the other end of the Mall and go to Z-Tejas, can't miss there!

Update: we went to Rusted Sun again tonight. If there was another star I could give this place I would. It is the best Calzone place I've ever been to, and I've had Calzone in Manhattan! It is GREAT food. We had the BBQ Chicken Calzone and it was SO good. If you're in the mood for Great calzone (I imagine the pizza is just as good) be sure to check this place out. It's On state just North of 21st south on the West side of State next to Curry in a Hurry (which I haven't dared try just yet LOL) Go and enjoy!

311 Day! CELEBRATE!

Hello all, as you can tell by the calendars on yourwalls, computers and cellphones, it is officially 311 day! I hope you all take the time to listen to your favorite 311 songs and revel in the music!

Here's their official website if you want to go take a look: http://www.311.com/

I'll also be having a "311" installed in my house with Dish Network - that's gotta be a good sign! LOL.

Once I get a Wii, we'll be ready to party like Rock Stars at my place!!!! B-)

IT'S Friday!

Quick update for Friday March 7.

The A4 has it's groove on finally - the iPod adaptor was installed this morning by Corey at Performance Tint in Orem. These guys do a pretty good job, they've done a lot of stuff for me and Sean, and others that I've sent over there. If you need anything done to your car's audio or tint check them out. Tell them Sean and I sent you over and they'll take care of you - yeah, we're that cool! :-D Phone number: 801-223-9418.

I also got the all-weather mats for the A4, so that's nice, don't have to be quite so careful getting in and out with dirty feet and it's ok when griff gets in now :-D He's a messy boy.

The Washer and Dryer were delivered to the house yesterday, pretty darn exciting. I hate spending money on things like that. I KNOW they're a necessity, but it's painful. At least I got a bunch of rebates from Sears, Rocky Mountain Power and Questar Gas, so that was nice.

The house is coming along nicely, Dad and I hung the TV on the wall the other day and I'm going to check out a couch Arlee found on KSL, hopefully that works out and people will actually be able to visit and sit (not on the island ;-) ). My office/Griff's room is looking pretty good and my bedroom is mostly done. I had a dresser picked out form Ikea but it didn't fit the space it was to go in. It was about 4" too long and poked out into the entry way to the room. I guarantee that would have caused some hip bruises in the middle of the night, and it wouldn't have looked good anyway.

I know I'm doing terrible with pictures, but things are just kind of a mess right now, once they're straightened out and not so hectic, I'll post them up.

Hopefully the Wii will be making it's appearance soon and we'll be good to go for a huge house-warming party. :-)
