The Big Disney Trip '12

I took Griff to SoCal for a little Disney trip. I asked him a while ago what trip he wanted to take this year. I was hoping for Yellowstone or something but he went with Disney. I am nothing if not a dad interested in giving his son everything he possibly can. So, without further ado - some pics:

Driving through Beaver, these pics are a must have.

Arrival at Disneyland.  I think I was about 13 the last time I was here...

Space Mountain - Griff is hilarious.

The Railroad roller coaster in Disney, whatever it's called.  Pretty fun!

Tom Sawyer's Island

Hmmm, not many Disney pics, weird.  I'll see if I have more...on to California Adventure!

After Screamin California Coaster - not sure if he really liked it, then we did it again! :-D

Radiator Springs is awesome!

Luigi's Garage

Killer Red Rock backdrop to Cars Land, unbelievable!

Mater's Tractor Pull

The Real Lightning McQueen!

Disney Ears

Bug's life rides.

Golden Zephyr, I think.

Traverse Rock Climb in Wilderness Explorer's Course.

Tower of Terror - Griff looks truly sick - hahahaha.

Even after 2 days at Disney/California Adventure, beach day was Griff's favorite.  Silly bug.  But the kid can body surf and boogie board, loves the ocean!

LA Temple.

Grand Lux Cafe - Cheese Pizza and ranch - tired of having his pic taken I guess? :-D

Finishing off the trip with Gelato at the Bellagio, SO DANG GOOD!

There might be more, we'll see.  But all in all it was a GREAT trip.  The car ride was easy and we had a great time chit-chatting and playing traveling games and listening to roadtrip music and watching videos.  The time in SoCal was so fun, wish I could do things like this with Griff every week.

Next trip???  Again, hopefully Yellowstone or Yosemite or something cool like that...or Santa Monica, it's all good either way :-)

Cecret Lake

This has totally been the Summer O' Griff and I've been slacking on his blog posts. Here's a few pics from our hike to Cecret Lake.

3rd Grade Econ Fair

The kids were taught supply and demand but apparently weren't taught actual entrepreneurship. Griff's little buddy Trevor wasn't getting any sales so they wanted to partner up - which actually made a lot of sense - Trevor had the game to draw in customers and Griff had the prizes. They could have drawn more customers and both made the money they were after, but this wasn't allowed? Weird - at least they had the idea, so they saw the possibility - pretty good for 9 year olds.

Pirates Baseball

Griff's baseball team has been kin of streaky but Griff is a decent little player. Hits better than I ever did for sure!

He's somewhere in this pic:

Mothers Day

Griff made this string art at school, for his mom:

Griff's first 5k

It has been a LONG time since I posted anything in here! I guess Facebook has kind of made this obsolete, but at the same time I still like having something for just Griff and me.

Griff did his first 5k on 5/12/12 at the 4th annual Race for Red in Provo. This is my friend Ian Casper's race for his group at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. I've done it the last 3 years and I'm stoked Griff did it this year. Now he wants to improve his time! Love it, time to get him some real running shoes...

Some of my favorite Griff pics - pre-blog
